There’s something about French toast that feels like a warm hug on a slow morning—and this version takes it to the next level. Made with buttery brioche, creamy half and half, and a cozy blend of brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice from Trader Joe’s. Whether you’re whipping it up for a weekend brunch or prepping ahead for the week, this recipe is simple, satisfying, and guaranteed to make your kitchen smell amazing.

Ingredients:

  • 4 thick slices of brioche bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup half and half
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Butter or oil for the pan

Optional Toppings:

  • Maple syrup
  • Powdered sugar
  • Fresh berries
  • Whipped cream

Directions:

  1. Make the custard: In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, half and half, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Soak the brioche: Dip each slice of brioche into the mixture, letting it soak for about 20–30 seconds per side so the bread soaks up all that flavor.
  3. Heat the pan: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add butter or oil.
  4. Cook the French toast: Place the soaked brioche on the skillet. Cook for 2–3 minutes on each side, or until golden and slightly crisp.
  5. Serve and top: Serve warm with maple syrup, a sprinkle of powdered sugar, berries, or whipped cream.
