Is Digital Currency Killing the Cash Envelope System?

Is the cash envelope system dead? With the rise of technology, digital currency, and online shopping who know how long physical cash will last?

I know the cash envelope system, which is now being called cash stuffing, is making a big comeback online. It does help control those spending urges when you only have $5 left in your Target envelope. 

As someone who uses the High-5 Banking Method and very little cash. I can see how this system can trend out quickly due to cultural shifts in money. 

But what do you think? Are cash and the cash envelope system dead?
