How I Balance Motherhood and Entrepreneurship

In this 2 Minute Q&A Tuesday, we’re going over the most difficult question I get asked, “how do you do it all?” As a full-time mom and business owner, I know the struggles of balancing motherhood and work oh so well. Even when I ask other moms who are in the same position as I am with toddlers, they state the same. We don’t have balance and can’t do it all. This is why it’s vital to create systems that help us find a little bit of work-life balance, so we can get something done.

Saving Time to Make Time

Now that I am officially 4 years into motherhood with a 4-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son, I can tell you that making time isn’t enough. You literally need to find ways to save time so that you can make time. This means bulking up your to-do’s in order to reduce how much you have to do at another time. When you do this, you’re now able to be in the moment of each task or event without worrying about the other to-dos. This way you can focus on doing each task right and not rushed while trying to balance everything else at the same time.

One of the biggest secrets that I don’t hide is that I meal prep. This one hack allows me to focus on cooking healthy-ish meals during the week that isn’t too time-consuming. While sneaking back sometime during the week outside of the kitchen. For me, this means not having to go rush after my son’s class to cook something up quickly. Instead, I give myself some time to reset for the night shift of motherhood and entrepreneurship. That’s something coffee can’t do alone, your body needs a break, and being able to enjoy that a few days a week helps.
